Perrie releases new single and video 'You Go Your Way'

The UK’s Perrie of Little Mix fame has released her new song ‘You Go Your Way’.

Originally produced and released as an underground club single by Joy Anonymous, Perrie fell in love with it after hearing it in a writing session and adapted it with Joy and producer Hudson Mohawke (Charli XCX).

The song is a stirring, upbeat electronic pop track with a powerful chorus and lyrics that relate to a real life situation when Perrie first started dating her now financé Alex. About to go away from several months on a US tour, Perrie suggested the pair take a break from their relationship, which ended up having the opposite result.

"I told Alex, you go your way and I’ll go mine and if it’s meant to be we’ll find each other again when I am back,” Perrie says. “He wasn't happy with this idea and made our relationship official there and then! Fast forward 8 years and we are very happy, engaged and have our beautiful son. I truly believe if you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it’s yours. If not it was never meant to be.”

Also out now is the video for ‘You Go Your Way’. Directed by Charlie Di Placido, it was filmed at night in the famous Ace Cafe in London, and remarkably, given the intense choreography, was completed in one shot with no breaks. The video shows Perrie breaking up with her lover at the beginning, but following the storyline of the song, at the end of the video they reunite, walking off together to the final lyrics ‘we’ll be okay’.

‘You Go Your Way’ is the third solo release from Perrie after Little Mix went on hiatus in 2022. Her first solo release ‘Forget About Us’ hit the UK top 10 earlier this year and was followed by ‘Tears’ in June. All three tracks will soon be joined by Perrie’s debut solo album which is due for release in 2025. She has spent the past year and half writing and recording and the sonically diverse album will feature rock, Motown, disco, country and 80s pop.

After the massive success of Little Mix, each member has gone on to create equally stunning music as solo artists and Perrie is continuing this trend with ‘You Go Your Way’. A superb pop song that is guaranteed to hit you in that musical sweet spot as well as make you move and get you in your feels, on the strength of her first three singles Perrie’s debut album is looking to be one of 2025’s greatest pop moments.
